Sources have told ESPN's Doug Gottlieb that Tubby Smith will leave Minnesota after this season.

There's some speculation over whether Georgia Tech will buy out the remainder of Paul Hewitt's contract and land Smith.

The Gophers are 17-11 overall and 6-10 in the Big Ten.

Minnesota coach Tubby Smith says he expects point guard Blake Hoffarber's sore left knee to be fine for the team's game against Illinois on Thursday.

Smith says Hoffarber is receiving treatment on the bursa sac behind his left knee.

Hoffarber limped through the second half of the loss to top-ranked Ohio State on Sunday with a brace on his knee.

No. 1 Ohio State remained undefeated with a dominant win over No. 18 Minnesota on Sunday.

Jared Sullinger had 18 points and 13 rebounds in Ohio State's 82-69 victory.

"You can see the difference in experienced, physical players: They just kind of shoved us out of the way," Minnesota coach Tubby Smith said.

Every starter for the Buckeyes scored 10 or more points to help stretch the second-longest winning streak in school history to 24 games.
